A new beginning

Those of you that follow this blog may wonder what has been happening since my last post in November.

Jesus Christ Superstar was a great success, we sold out on a few nights and broke some records for the St Albans Operatic Society, we are now rehearsing for the next show Hot Mikado in May.

The Symbian Foundation where I was working last year has ceased operational activities and so we were all made redundant from the 31st December. Some people may see this as a cause for concern I saw it as an opportunity.

I had already being practicing using NLP for therapy with a number of clients with a plan to start business in 2012, so it seemed logical to bring that plan forward to now. Admittedly there was a fair amount of soul searching over the christmas period before I finally decided to stop looking for a permanent role and decided to focus on the starting a new business and contract roles.

This is how Embrace Your Mind was born, now I spend my days working with clients, marketing activities, Networking and Tai Chi once a week (only two classes so far). Evenings are taken up with rehearsals, publicity meetings and now committee meetings with the St Albans Operatic Society, as well as networking events, choir practice (working on improving my vocals) and a counselling course I will be starting in March.
Weekends are generally kept for family time, sometimes a do see a few clients at weekends.

It can be a bit daunting starting your own business and this totally cancelled out by the thrill of working for yourself and building something, that started as a glimmer in your mind.
